CEC VS Sampath to lay down office on Thursday

New Delhi, Jan 14, 2015:Chief Election Commissioner of India V.S.Sampath will lay down office on Thursday. Sampath, an IAS officer belonging to the 1973 batch from AP, took over as Chief Election Commissioner in 2012. He had earlier worked as Election Commissioner and Secretary, Power Ministry prior to his present assignment. Sampath, well known as a sincere and straight forward officer , oversaw the 2014 General Elections. His last major official decision was relating to Delhi Assembly elections for which he issued notification a few days ago.
