Sashi Tharoor : Third degree used on my servant during interrogation

New Delhi, Jan 8, 2015: Media got hold of a letter written by former Union Minister Sashi Tharoor to Delhi Police Commissioner B.S. Bassi in November saying that police officials investigating the death of his wife Sunanda Pushkar had applied third degree measures on his domestic help Narayan Singh as part of the probe. "The police used third degree methods on Narayana Singh asking him to agree that he and his land lord ( Read Sashi Tharoor ) had together killed Sunanda Pushkar," the letter written by Sashi Tharoor has alleged. For 16 hours on Nov 7 and for 14 hours on the next day, Narayan Singh was interrogated and during the interrogation , one officer used third degree methods on him, he complained to the Police Commissioner in his letter. Meanwhile, AIIMS Medical Board Chief Dr Sudhir Gupta has said that it was true they had submitted a report to the police saying that Sunanda died of poison but they never said she was poisoned to death. However, police have registered a case of murder and have begun investigation.
