2 die as boat capsizes in Eluru

Eluru, November 2: Two women labourers died as a country boat capsized in Kolleru Lake near Kalakarru village, Eluru rural mandal on Wednesday. The deceased were identified as Paidithalli and Gouramma of Gurakalapeta village.
 
The mishap happened while the workers were going to work in cotton fields. Of the total seven workers, two died and five escaped. 
 
After getting information from the villagers, police reached the spot and recovered the bodies. They shifted the bodies to GGH for postmortem. 
 
TDP leader S Govardhan expressed grief over the incident. He demanded the government to extend financial assistance of Rs 25 lakh each to the deceased families.
