AP Assembly passes Bill to rename NTR Health University

Amaravati, September 21: Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly on Wednesday passed a Bill to rename Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS) as YSR Health University.

Speaking while introducing the Bill in the House, Minister for Health, Medical and Family Welfare Vidadala Rajini played a video clip of TDP president and Leader of the Opposition N. Chandrababu Naidu saying that NTR Aarogyasri scheme will be renamed so that people can forget name of former Chief Minister N T Rama Rao (NTR) forever. “TDP has no moral right to speak about NTR,” she criticised.

The minister stated that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has enormous respect towards NTR. “Number of government medical colleges in the state rose from 8 to 11 in YSR rule. Jagan Mohan Reddy increased them to 28,” she mentioned and added that the NTRUHS renamed after YSR as latter, and his son were responsible for getting more medical colleges to AP.
