Girl killed in Pakistan-India border firing

Islamabad, Jan 3: A 14-year-old girl was killed Saturday during exchange of fire between Pakistani para-military troopers and India's Border Security Force (BSF) along the Line of Control (LoC), a media report said. Samira was a resident of Punjab province's Sialkot city, Dawn reported. The situation along the LoC has been tense since India and Pakistan reported casualties in the area. Pakistan says the latest round of firing began when the Indian border guards killed two Pakistan paramilitary troopers in Punjab's Shakargarh sector in Narowal district Wednesday after calling them for a flag meeting on the LoC. India, however, says four Pakistani troopers were killed on the border in Kashmir after the killing of an Indian border guard earlier that day.
