YSRCP Leader and Former Minister Jogi Ramesh family Booked in Dowry Harassment Case
In a major embarrassment to the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), senior leader and former minister Jogi Ramesh and his family are facing serious allegations of dowry harassment and domestic violence. Jogi Ramesh’s daughter-in-law, Meghana, has lodged a complaint with the police accusing her husband Rajeev, father-in-law Jogi Ramesh, and other family members of physically and mentally torturing her for additional dowry.

According to the complaint, Meghana married Rajeev, son of Jogi Ramesh, in May last year. She alleged that soon after the marriage, her husband and in-laws began harassing her demanding more dowry. Despite multiple attempts at mediation in the presence of elders, the harassment allegedly continued and intensified.

Fearing for her life, Meghana approached the Ibrahimpatnam Police Station in NTR district and filed a formal complaint. Based on her complaint, police have registered a case against 11 members of the Jogi Ramesh family, including Jogi Ramesh and his son Rajeev. The case has been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code pertaining to domestic violence, dowry harassment, cheating, and attempt to murder.
