T20 WC 2022 squad: Big shock for Team India; Bumrah's participation doubtful

Hyderabad: Before the T20 World Cup-2022, Team India is likely to get a huge shock. Star pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who was absent from the Asia Cup due to injury, has become doubtful to participate in the T20 World Cup as well. Bumrah is currently suffering from severe back pain.

Bumrah suffered the same injury in 2019. Due to this, Bumrah missed many matches in the past. And now his injury has reversed again. Bumrah is currently at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. Bumrah's injury is worrying the BCCI as there is only a month left to announce the team for the T20 World Cup.

"Bumrah's injury is troubling our team. He is currently under medical supervision at the National Cricket Academy. His old injury has relapsed. Bumrah's back pain has worsened. We are just two months away from the World Cup,” said a senior BCCI official told Inside Sports.

“It is unfortunate that Bumrah is injured at this time. He is the main bowler of our team. So, we hope that he will recover from the injury soon and join the team," a senior BCCI official added. Meanwhile, the T20 World Cup will be held in Australia in October-November this year.
