AP gets 50 MW of power from Kundakalam Nuclear Reactor
New Delhi, Jan 1, 2015: The Central Electricity Authority has issued a notification allotting the unallocated 50 MW of power generated by the first reactor of Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project (KKNPP) to Andhra Pradesh. KKNPP Director R.S. Sundar told news persons at Tirunalveli that the 1000 MW of power would be transmitted to the southern grid at Abhishekapatti at Tirunalveli. "950 MW of power would be shared by Tamil Nadu (562.50 MW), Puducherry (33.50 MW), Kerala (133 MW) and Karnataka (221 MW). Out of the 1000 MW, 50 MW of power was previously not allocated to any state. This will now be transmitted to Andhra Pradesh as per the notification issued by the Central Electricity Authority," he revealed.
