Telangana: Cong MLA Seethakka clarifies over casting vote in prez elections

Hyderabad, July 18: Giving clarification over casting her vote in presidential elections, Telangana Congress MLA Seethakka on Monday indirectly denied exercising her franchise in support of NDA presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu.
 
Speaking to the media, Seethakka stated that she asked a polling official to give her another ballot paper as erroneously marker pen in her hand drew a small line in open space of ballot paper while marking her choice of the candidate.
 
However, a section of media reported that she cast her vote for the NDA pick instead of UPA presidential nominee Yashwant Sinha. The MLA made it clear that she did not commit any mistake in casting vote.
 
“I brought the issue to the notice of the presiding officer with a doubt that my vote might become invalid during the process of counting,” she mentioned. The counting of votes for presidential elections would take place on July 21.
