Saudi Arabia executes 81 people in a day for terror offences

New Delhi: Not to mention how harsh the laws and punishments are in Arab countries like Saudi Arabia. Beheadings, amputations of limbs are common there. Recently, the Saudi Arabian government created a sensation by executing 81 people in a single day. 

Some of those executed were found to have links to Al Qaeda, ISIS and the Yemeni Houthi terrorist organisation while others were found to have killed women and children. They were all hanged on Saturday. Of those, 73 were Saudi nationals, seven were Yemenis and one was a Syrian national.

This is the first time in the last three-and-a-half decades that 81 persons have been executed on the same day. In 1980, 63 people were beheaded and executed in a single day in Saudi Arabia.
