Anand Mahindra shares an interesting anecdote about SUV and Rajesh Khanna
The song 'Mere Sapnonki Rani' from blockbuster hit film Aaradhana, which was released in 1969, is still afresh in the memory of music lovers. Entrepreneur Anand Mahindra revealed an interesting anecdote about the song.
"In 1969, Bollywood's first superstar Rajesh Khanna rendered 'Mary Sapnonki Rani Kab Aayegi Tu' to his girlfriend by sitting in the Mahindra SUV. Almost half a century later, the same SUV's new version was launched. The romance of the day still lingers," he tweeted. He also shared an advertisement for the new Mahindra Thor SUV vehicle.
Rajesh Khanna and Sharmila Tagore starred in the then cult film. Rajesh Khanna is the first hero to win the title of a superstar in Hindi cinema. In the movie, the hero was travelling in a Mahindra jeep while the heroine was travelling in a train. He sings 'Mere Sapnonki Rani' while expressing his love towards her.
