Coalgate: ED summons Dasari

Hyderabad, Nov 26: The Enforcement Directorate (RD) on Wednesday issued summons to Former coal minister Dasari Narayana Rao in connection with alleged irregularities in allocation of Talabira-II coal block in which Aditya Birla Group chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla and former coal secretary P C Parakh are accused. The 66-year-old Dasari Narayana Rao, a Congress parliamentarian from Andhra Pradesh, was the MoS for coal between 2004 to 2006 and in his second term from 2006 to 2008. In April this year, Rao was similarly summoned and questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation on the allocation of Talabira-II coal block at Odhisa to Hindalco in spite of the screening committee giving the block to PSU Neyveli Lignite Limited.
