Rs 180-cr plan ready for Tribal welfare: Chandulal
Hyderabad, May.12: Minister for Tribal Welfare, Tourism and Culture Ajmira Chandulal today said an Action plan will be implemented for the development of Tribals at an estimated cost of Rs 180 crore during 2017-18 year.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Friday, Chandulal said separate units will be set up based on resources available in each district. He was releasing the product logo at the review meeting held at DSS Bhavan. He also said the Stae government was committed to the inclusive growth of the tribals and spending adequate funds. The Minister also said several production units and processing centers will be launched Gum processing unit at Mulugu, Honey processing unit at Nirmal, Soap production unit at Nirmal, Turmeric and Chilli making unit at Sudimalla, in Khammam district, Tamarind processing unit at Kondanagula, Mahbubnagar district, Soya Processing unit at Utnoor, Adilabad district and Soapnut Shampoo making unit at Kondanagula in Mahbubnagar district.
Chandulal said the government proposed to construct and renovate depots, use of latest GPRS technology, Opening of Girijan Fuel banks and strengthen of Public Distribution system in plain areas also. He said e-auction would be conducted for disposal of items lying in godowns and sort out the issues with the Forest department on forest rental. He hoped that the new units and processing centers will help the local people get jobs besides support price for their products.
