Alampur MLA returns gunmen in protest against police inaction

Hyderabad, April.14: Alampur MLA SA Sampath Kumar has sent his gunmen back alleging that what was the need to keep the gunmen when there was no protection to daliths.

On Friday, on the occasion of Dr BR Ambedkar’s 126 birth anniversary celebrations held at MKS Hall, Sampth Kumar sent his gunmen back to the government. “Why I need protection when there is no protection to the people”, he lamented and said that the police, who supposed to protect the people, were killing the people. The state government failed to protect the people, he bemoaned.  

He said that it was painful that the police were not responding on the complaints lodged by the people in his own constituency. “The police failed to respond on the complaint lodged by me when the attacks were took place on dalihts. I also lodged complaint with CI, DSP, SP but there is no response from them. Later, I lodged complaint with IG, Home Minister and Human Rights Commission”, he bemoaned.  He said that Home Minister Nayani Narsimha Reddy responded on the issue and directed Jogulamba district police officials but the police failed to inquiry into the negligent attitude of the SI concerned. He said that he will wage fight against his community people, who were meted out injustice, and made it clear that he has no confidence on police.

 “I have lost faith in police after their inaction towards daliths, who experienced injustice. So that there is no need of gunmen services to me”, he said.  The meeting was attended by former Minister DK Aruna, collector Rajat Kumar, joint collector and others.
