Kodanda skeptical of CM KCR’s promise of free fertilizers to farmers

Hyderabad, April.14: Expressing doubts on the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s statement on giving fertilizers freely to the farmers from next budget session onwards, TPCC Kisan Cell Chairman M Kodanda Reddy has alleged that the TRS government has neglected the agriculture sector in the state in its three year rule.

Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Friday, Kodanda Reddy said that the state government has to implement the free issue of fertilizers from this Kharif season instead of next budget session onwards. Questioning the state government to tell as to why it failed to review on input subsidy, drought relief funds and loan waiver scheme, Kodanda Reddy demanded the state government to solve the problems facing by the farmers now.

He alleged that there was no clarity in the statement given by the Chief Minister on distribution of free fertilizers to the farmers and also the Chief Minister announced the scheme without proper plan. He asked the government to clear that the fertilizers to be given to the farmers of wet lands or dry lands. He also asked the state government to tell whether the free fertilizers scheme would be applicable to tenant farmers or not.  He also asked the state government to tell whether the selection of beneficiaries would be done by officials or TRS leaders.  The government has to clarify that whether the KCR announced subsidy was including with centre’s subsidy or without it, he asked.
