Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital to introduce Robotic surgery soon

Hyderabad, April.9 : A robotic surgery facility would be introduced in the Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute in treating cancer patients in the next three months, said actor-politician and chairman of the hospital Nandamuri Balakrishna today.

Inaugurating a new Dormitory, donated by Alapati Bapanna in memory of his late parents Alapati Ravindranath and Alapati Kalavati, AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said the new facility would be made available for poor patients. He also appreciated the indefatigable efforts of Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute in treating cancer patients.

Chandrababu Naidu said the hospital was established in memory of Basvatarakam, wife of late chief minister N T Rama Rao, who herself was an unfortunate victim of killer cancer disease. Though she was taken for treatment to Mumbai and Chennai, her life could not be saved, he said.  He said Nandamuri Balakrishna was working with dedication for the development of the hospital. “Balakrishna was not only an actor in the cinema field, but also a hero in real life, who was helping cancer patients.

Before that speaking on the occasion,  Nandamuri Balakrishna thanked the donor  Aalapati Bapanna for donating such huge amount of 1.5 crores in constructing such facility. He said that with this new facility, BIACH&RI has now two dormitories for poor patients that can accommodate around 700 people.

While highlighting the objectives set by its founder Late  NT Rama Rao, Balakrishna once again assured that every effort would be made to provide latest technologies, treatment to the poor in the hospital. He also announced that several such new facilities would be introduced in the hospital in coming days. He thanked all the donors, who helped the organisation till date.
