Sita Rama Kalyanam at Vontimatta on April 10 in a big way- EO
Tirupati, March.25: The annual Brahmotsavams in Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy temple in Tirupati off to a ceremonial start with Dhwajarohanam in Mesha Lagnam on Saturday.
The nine day fete in Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy temple is scheduled from March 25 to April 2 and TTD has made elaborate arrangements for this fete.
Earlier the day began with the procession of deities in four mada streets during the wee hours and later the traditional flag hoisting ceremony on temple pillar commenced amidst chanting of Vedic mantras by archakas. The Garuda on pillar was rendered with harati and naivedyam and later the sacred Garuda Flag was hoisted onto the temple pillar in a ceremonious way.
Later speaking on this occasion, TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao said, this year Garuda Seva falls on March 29 while Hanumantha Vahana Seva on March 30. “All the devotees should take part in this fete. And as a state function, the Sita Rama Kalyanam will be celebrated in a big way at Vontimitta on April 10 this year and I invite all the devotees to take part in this fete”, he added.
Tirupati JEO P Bhaskar said, this year Garuda Seva in Sri KRT coincided with the auspicious Sri Hemalambi Nama Samvatsara Ugadi festival day. “The Garuda Seva and Hanumantha Vahana Sevas are the two most important Vahana sevas in Sri KRT Brahmotsavams and I wish the devotees take part in the annual nine day fete”, he maintained.
