6 accused surrender in highway shootout case
Vijayawada, Nov 6: Six persons, who have been accused of being involved in the sensational shootout at Pedavutapalli village on NH-5 that leads to Eluru, have Thursday surrendered in the Gannavaram Court, near here. As per the case records, three astrologers identified as Gandham Nageswara Rao and his sons G. Maraiah and G. Pagidi Maraiah of Pinakadimi village in West Godavari district, were shot dead by a hired gang on September 24. At least 16 persons are said to have been involved in the case and all of them have been remanded to judicial custody till date. Earlier, AP police had arrested 10 persons, including a conspirator and some gang members. Some of the other accused, including the main conspirator Butham Govindu, are still at large.
