All legislative meetings, Budget session will be held in Amaravathi: Kodela
Hyderabad, Jan.21 : Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker Dr Kodela Shiva Prasada Rao has made it clear that all Legislature Committees meetings would be held at their capital Amavarathi from now onwards. He made it clear that the budget session should be held at Amaravati only. The government will take a decision whether it would conduct the winter session of the Legislative Assembly or not but not him, Kodela responded to a question from reporters.

Speaking to the media at Legislative Assembly Committee Hall here on Saturday, Kodela said that the International Women’s Parliament, the first of its kind in the country to be held from February 10-12, would be held on grand note at Amaravathi with 12,000 delegates including students and an eminent women from business, commercial and industrial sectors. He said that the women from politics, and public representatives of local bodies would attend the meeting.

Kodela said that the theme of the conference was ‘women empowerment for nation’s development’. The program will be held irrespective of political identification, he said adding that the women who participate in the conferences must speak. “It is a participatory conference”, he dubbed. He said that the 200 MLAs out 400 MLAs across the nation would participate in the conferences. He said that they invited 29 states Legislative Assemblies Speakers for the conference. The produce of SERP, MEPMA and DWKRA women would be exhibited during the three conferences, he said and informed that they were preparing two songs on women empowerment and they would be remain as milestones in women empowerment history. The Speaker said that they will offer good food that would reflect the Telugu culture. On final day morning, the hosts will organise 1.5 kilometer ‘run for women empowerment’ and at the conclusion the “Amaravathi Declaration for Women Empowerment” would be announced.

Stating that the preparations were on full swing, Kodela said that the 18 committees were working on the conference arrangements. He said that they sent invitations to 2500 colleges located in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states and a meeting would be called with vice-chancellors very soon. Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker Mandali Budha Prasad, Assembly Secretary Sathyanarayana and others participated in the press meet.
