No 'Appam Prasadam' At Sabarimala?!
Sabarimala: Following the restrictions and guidelines imposed by the executive magistrate, manufacturing of 'Appam' prasadam at Sabarimala has become standstill. Magistrate raised objections over the rice used for the Appam production.
As the buffer stock at devaswom godowns remained only 80,000 packets, in coming days the pilgrims may leave Sabarimala without the Appam Prasadam.
On the basis of SC(Supreme Court) orders of 2015, executive magistrate served orders restricting the use of 'irumudi' rice offered by devotees in the preparation of Appam production. This forced the authorities to stop the production of Appam.
With just one week left for the 'Makaravilakku' season, Devaswom authorities worrying about the long-winding process in the purchase of rice for Appam.
Akhila Bharatha Ayyappa Seva Sangham expressed its displeasure over executive magistrate orders as the pilgrim sentiments will be affected. Sangham asked Travancore Devasom Board to act immediately against the court orders keeping in view of pilgrims interests.
