Union cabinet recommends dissolution of the Delhi assembly

New Delhi, Nov 4: The union cabinet this afternoon recommended the dissolution of the Delhi assembly, informed sources said. The decision was taken after the cabinet had ratified Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung's recommendation to that effect. Delhi Lieutenant Governor had earlier submitted his report to the President of India on the matter after all three major political parties - AAP, BJP and Congress - had informed him that it was not possible to form a government under the present conditions. The process of a new election for the capital has thus begun. The national capital was under the President's rule since February 17 after Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal resigned as chief minister February 14.
