Jr docs meet AP Health Minister

Vijayawada, Nov 4: Representatives of the junior doctors of Andhra Pradesh Tuesday met Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas and urged him to resolve their problems latest by Wednesday evening. Failing which they would be forced to strike work, the junior doctors said. Reports said AP Health Secretary and other top health officials were to join the health minister for further discussions with the junior doctors to resolve their problems. The junior doctors have been threatening to join their Telangana counterparts in opposing the compulsory rural services. They were also demanding the scrapping of the controversial GO 107, which insists of mandatory one-year rural stint for the junior doctors. The junior doctors said they would take a final decision on the strike only after the discussions with the officials.
