Golden waist belt gifted to Minister, Naidu expresses ire

Hyderabad, Nov 4: A golden waist belt worth Rs 37.5 lakhs has stirred the hornet's nest in the Andhra Pradesh cabinet. Andhra Pradesh Secratariat is agog with the news that granite traders had gifted the costliest golden waist belt to an AP minister. Reports have also emerged that AP chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had reportedly sought an explanation on the issue from the minister. On deeper probe, it appears that the granite traders of Prakasham district had recently felicitated AP Minister for Women, Child Welfare and Mines Peetala Sujata. On that occasion the traders are reported to have gifted the costliest golden waist belt to the minister. However, Minister Sujata has denied these allegations and brushed aside the reports as just rumours. The minister also denied that Chief minister had sought an explanation from her on the issue.
