Bengulurians Performed Last Rites For Cashless ATM
Bengaluru: Even after 30 days Comman man desperate for cash, not stocked ATMs coupled with very long queues frustrating him. To ventilate their frustration supporters belong to JDU of Bengaluru and other local people performed the last rights of an ATM near the Mysore Bank Circle. Among the opposition parties JDU (Janata Dal United) leader and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar has been supporting the demonetisation decision openly. But JDU's Bengaluru supporters are not with the same opinion. Social activist Kumar Jahagirdar said “After 1 month, there is no need to keep a dead ATM machine. So, we removed the artificial respiration system and it is dead now. Then we have done its 'Anthim Sanskar/Last Rites' as per the stipulated tradition in presence of people. Let the ATM machine's soul RIP" He also told that 'Prasad' of the ritual will be sent to PM Modi and FM Arun Jaitley. He further added that "With this they may know the ground realities. We don't have currency, none of the ATM machines are functioning here. Every time they are showing No Cash/Sorry/ Cooperate with us etc. We are struggling a lot to spend even on our basic requirements. It is nothing but grave violation of Human Rights." Local JD-U unit president Syed Mehboob told that “At the outset we support currency ban, but we should not undermine the problems being faced by farmers, common man etc. More than 90% ATMs found closed. Every day people have been spending hours near ATMs. Why this situation even after 30 days."
