Jayalalithaa's Coffin Maker Earlier Made Caskets of Sivaji Ganesan and PV Narsimha Rao
Chennai: Yesterday, Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa was buried with complete state honours. Draped in green colour saree Puratchi Thalaivi's body was shifted to a casket made of sandalwood, which engraved with the Tamil words 'Puratchi Thalaivi Selvi' means Revolutionary Leader.
The coffin was made by Flying Squad and Homage Company. It has also prepared coffins of former PM PV Narasimha Rao and versatile veteran actor Sivaji Ganesan.
PRMM Shanthakumar, MD of the company says that “The coffin exterior was gold plated, to keep the body fresh it was prepared with a freezer box with heavy duty compressor.The coffin was made with the capacity to preserve a body for 2-3 days, if the inside temperature was maintained in the range of 0-5 degree Celsius.”
