Fuel and Air Ticket Purchase : Old Rs.500 Note Valid Till Dec 2 Only

New Delhi: GOI changed the rules of using banned Rs.500 note. Earlier it announced that banned Rs.500 note will be valid till 15 December. But now it cut short the proposed deadline and announced that it is valid till Dec 2 for buying air tickets and fuel. While the banned old note will be continued to accept for the other domestic utility bill payments, at railway ticket counters and at counters of PSU or Govt undertaking bus tickets purchase till 15 December. The Govt notification says that the relaxation will be discontinued for purchase of airline tickets and fuel. From Dec 3, air ticket, fuel purchase and toll payment would be allowed in lower denomination currency or with new Rs.2,000 and Rs.500 notes only.
