Time Magazine's ‘Person of the Year’ poll : Modi ahead of Trump & Putin
November 29, 2016: PM Modi is leading an ongoing online poll of readers’ choice as ‘Person of the Year’ in 2016 honour for Time magazine. For the 4th year in a row, PM Narendra Modi is among the top contenders for Time Magazine's ‘Person of the Year’ honour. This year the contenders include outgoing US leader Barack Obama, US President-elect Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. In 2015 the title was awarded to German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The US publication awards this title every year to the person “who has most influenced our world and the news in the past one year, for good or bad.” As of now PM Modi is leading with 21% voting in his favour, way ahead of Obama's 7%, Trump's 6% and Putin's 6%. The choice poll ends on 4th December. If the trends remain the same, we can see the PM Modi as 2016 Time Magazine's ‘Person of the Year.
