GOI scraps excise duty on 'POS' manufacturing

New Delhi: In wake of demonetisation and keeping in view of great demand today GOI scrapped excise duty on the goods which are used in manufacturing POS machines(Point of Sale). Govt sources said that to the tune of 12.5% excise duty and 4% SAD (Special Additional Duty) will be exempted for POS machines till March 31, 2017. Today, Notification related to this exemption was tabled in the Lok Sabha.
