Left parties to hold protests on Nov. 28 against demonetization of big notes
Hyderabad, Nov.24: CPI general secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy has said the Left parties would hold protests on November 28 against the decision of the Centre on demonetization of big notes.
Speaking to the media here on Thursday, Suravaram alleged that the BJP leaders were misguiding Prime Minister Narendra Modi on demonetization of big notes. He made it clear that nobody will tolerate if the BJP leaders tried to dub the people, who opposed Narendra Modi, as a national betrayers. He also questioned the BJP leaders as to why the Centre gave thousands of crores of rupees subsidy to Adani and Ambani. He said it was not proper to the Centre to harass the poor in the name of black money.
Only six percent of the total black money was in India and the remaining was already deposited in foreign countries much before Modi’s demonetization of big notes, he deplored. He said the condition of the economy was badly affected and retail business was severely hit with the demonetization of big notes. The farmers, barbers and vegetable vendors were seriously affected with the demonetization of big notes. “It seems the problems will not be solved even after six months”, he said. Alleging that the GDP growth rate fell to 3.5 percent, he opined that the situation in the rural India would improve only if the Centre allowed the old currency for some more time.
