BBC unveiled its list of inspirational women for 2016. The released list of 100 globally chosen women includes actress Sunny Leone along with four other Indian women. Mallika Srinivasan (Chennai), Gouri Chindarkar(Sangli), Saalumarada Thimmakka (Karnataka) and Neha Singh (Mumbai) got berths in the prestigious list. Mallika Srinivasan, 57, CEO of TAFE (Tractors and Farm Equipment Ltd) is also known as 'Tractor Queen of India'. She has grown her family company into world's 3rd largest tractor manufacturer. Saalumarada Thimmakka, 105, is an environmentalist from Karnataka. She has planted more than 8,000 trees in the last 80 years. She started this project in response to social ridicule at not being able to have children. Gouri Chindarkar, a 20 yr old computer engineering graduate from Sangli in Maharashtra, was one of the 1st children in India to experience a unique learning experience which is now known as 'School in the Cloud.' Neha Singh, 34, is a actor and writer, who founded a movement to encourage women to walk on the Mumbai streets to defy harassment.
