AP to launch “5MW Canal Bund Solar Project”
Vijayawada, Nov.20: The AP State which has taken a focused “mission mode” approach in achieving Self-Sufficiency and Stability in power sector by enhancing the generation capacity addition through conventional sources along with a special focus on Renewable energy sources to meet the energy requirements most efficiently and economically, is going to achieve a record of commissioning “5MW Canal Bund Solar Project”, a first of its kind in the country.
On the occasion, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will dedicate the 5MW Polavaram Right Canal Bund Solar Power Plant at Gollagudem village under Ungutur Mandal in West Godavari District to Nation on Monday. Reiterating that his government was keen on making AP as the Solar Hub of India and has targeted to generate 10,000MW Solar Energy by 2022 to support the Union Govt’s Solar Policy of 1,00,000MW, the Chief Minister asked power sector officials to implement a special strategy for fast track implementation of other Solar Projects, along with the Conventional Energy generation, to meet the future demand in the State, keeping in view the proposed mission of Govt to develop a World Class capital city at Amaravathi.
