Rs. 91 Lakh Seized From Minister's Car

As the entire nation is suffering with currency crunch, Rs.91 lakhs were seized from a car belonging to Maharastra Minister Subhash Deshmukh's organization. Confirming the money seizure, Osmanabad Collector Prashant Narnaware said that the currency was detected during a routine check of vehicles by a flying squad of election officials near Umarga town. The seized car is owned by Minister's Lokmangal Group, which runs sugarcane factories, banks and also involved in charity. Speaking to Media Minister Subhash Deshmukh said "I am ready to face any Income Tax inquiry. Those 91 lakhs were being ferried from one bank to another in a vehicle owned by the bank. The money is accounted for and has necessary documents to prove it" Opposition parties Congress and NCP reacted on the issue and demanded immediate sacking of the minister.
