High Security to AP CM
In view of latest Maoist encounter and subsequent threats from Maoist forces Government of AP tightening security to CM Chandrababu Naidu. He is already under NSG(National Security Guards) cover provided by Government of India. Today Government of AP released G.O.MS.No. 219 which allows the creation of 290 posts to the Chief Minister’s Security Group (CMSG) in Intelligence Department. In 2007, a separate Chief Minister’s Security Group (CMSG) in Intelligence Department has been created to provide security exclusively to the CM of Andhra Pradesh with a strength of 338 personnel. Consequent to bifurcation of the State, 196 personnel only were allotted to the Chief Minister’s Security Group (CMSG) of the Residuary State of Andhra Pradesh and the remaining 142 personnel to the Chief Minister’s Security Group (CMSG) of Telangana State. The present strength of Chief Minister’s Security Group (CMSG) of residual Andhra Pradesh is 196. Government asses that this number is grossly insufficient to provide security to the Chief Minister who has been touring extensively various parts of the State and also other places in the country.
