Bill Gates appreciated demonetization decision.

Microsoft founder Bill Gates termed the latest currency demonetization decision as a "bold move" and expected that this would deflate country's shadow economy. In his second lecture on Transforming India organized by NITI Aayog Gates analysed that digital transactions can reduce leakages and enhance transparency. He view that 'Aadhaar' will create a centralized and comprehensive data repository. Referring to India's health issues, Gates said, "If I had a wand and could fix 1 health problem in India, it must be the malnutrition. There are many states that have made appreciable progress, but there also many regions where malnutrition has become the norm, not the exception."
