Demonetization Effect : Maoists crippled financially

8 days gone, People's suffering not ended. Still serpentine queues, unstocked ATMs occupying media headlines. But the worst hit sections have been suffering with sleepless nights and bouncing depression. This list includes corrupt businessmen, politicians, terrorists, anti social elements and Naxals. All were mulling out on future course of action. Media sources suggest in the past 5 days there is no violence reported in J&K, which is can be termed as rare occurrence. Maoists posses wide network as well as information system across the country. Their major revenue sources are levy and extortion from contractors, businessmen, political parties, infrastructure firms. Usually the procured money will be saved in secret dumps, buried deep under the soil. No one has a clear idea about how much money is in their hands. Lot of guess work going around, according to IDSA (The Institute of Defence Studies and Analyses) Maoist earn around Rs 140 Cr per year. But top police brass feels that it was a very conservative estimate. According to the ground reports they calculated that it would be around Rs.2000 cr per year. The Maoists expenditure list include weapons and ammunition, intelligence gathering, medical emergencies and monthly remuneration to cadre. But the latest demonetization decision is a massive strike on their finances. Chhattisgarh police and intelligence expecting that frustrated Maoist high command surely make attempts to exchange the currency through their most trusted tribals. Assessing all possibilities the forest entry points are kept under surveillance.
