Police caught Prof. Lakshmi

At last, the hunt ended. Guntur police arrested Prof.Lakshmi, who was accused of abetting suicide of medico Sandhya Rani. After the preliminary inquiry, case registered under Section 306 of IPC. Since then Prof.Lakshmi and their family members absconded to evade arrest. The government appointed a judicial inquiry committee, which concluded that Prof.Lakshmi's harassment and pressure pushed medico Sandhya Rani to commit suicide. Opposition parties, JUDAs (Junior Doctors) staged a protest for the immediate arrest of Prof. Lakshmi. Parents of Sandhya Rani met Opposition leader YS Jagan and requested to see justice to be done. Later they met TS IT Minister KTR and expressed their agony and pain over the indifferent behavior of the Guntur Police. After consoling them, KTR spoke to AP DGP and Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas and requested to take stringent action against the accused.
