Marriage bureau lady held for cheating alliance seeker

Hyderabad, Nov.8: Marketing Intelligence Team of Cyber Crime Police Station here has apprehended a lady involved in matrimonial fraud through Nandini Marriage Bureau. Police said the accused published advertisements in Telugu dailies offering marriage alliances and cheated innocent people of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh in the guise of arranging good marriage alliances and acting herself as a bride and collected amounts from prospective applicants. The police seized three mobile phones and other incriminating material from her possession. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police, DD, CCS, one M. RaghuramReddy of Langar House lodged a complaint on September 29 alleging that on September 18 he has seen a paper advertisement of “Pelli Choopulu” in a Telugu daily and contacted marriage alliance bureau. He was asked to come to Nandini Marriage Bureau office situated at Saraswathi Nagar, Saidabad Colony. The lady said they have a good match for him and asked him to pay Rs 10,000 to Sujatha alias Katta Sandhya Rani. After two days, a lady talked to him on the phone and asked him for his details. Again the Nandini marriage bureau people contacted him and asked him to deposit Rs 5,000 in a bank account existing in the name of K.Sandya Rani. But the complainant realized that he was cheated by the marriage bureau people and lodged the complaint. The DCP stated that Katta Sandhya Rani, with an intention to earn easy money, started giving advertisements in Telugu News Daily and cheated the alliance seekers. The accused herself used to act as a bride and collected amounts from the alliance seeker. In this manner, she has cheated the complainant and many others from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The team headed by Inspector G. Shanker Raju and his team members SIs Ramesh, Lachi Reddy, H.C. K. Thakur, cracked the case under the supervision of ACP Cyber Crimes K.C.S. Raghu Vir and registered a case.
