Speaking on occasion, the Mayor said that the GHMC has identified that there were 10,000 beggars in Hyderabad City. The fact came to the GHMC notice that only some of them were real beggars among the 10,000. There were drug sellers and eve teasers in the name of beggars in the city, he stated. He lamented that there were incidents of the injecting narcotics to the children to make them beg.
