Revanth Reddy urges CM to fulfil his promise of regularizing services of Home Guards
Hyderabad, Oct.28: Telangana TDP working president A Revanth Reddy today urged Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to concede the justified demands of Home Guards, who have been agitating for a long time. In an open letter to the Chief Minister, the TDP leader said there were 19,600 Home Guards working in the State and they were discharging their duties on par with police constables for mere monthly wages of Rs 12,000 per month.
The Home Guards were demanding that the Chief Minister fulfill his promises made to them before elections, he said and appreciated the services of Home Guards, who also contributed their services during heavy rains that lasted the city causing disruption of normal life. But these people stood behind the police force and helped citizens, he reminded.
Revanth Reddy urged the Chief Minister to fulfill his promise of regularizing the services of Home Guards in the State besides providing other facilities. The TDP leader demanded that the TRS government take steps immediately to regularize the services of Home Guards, provide health cards, equal salary and allowances on par with policemen, additional 30 per cent salary for those who are performing traffic duties, weekly holiday and promotions.
