AP CM favors dialogue to settle issues with TS
Hyderabad, Oct.21: Governor ESL Narasimhan and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today closeted for about one-and-half-an-hour at Taj Gateway in Vijayawada on Friday and discussed on key issues of river waters sharing, transfer of five buildings in Secretariat to Telangana government and current political scenario and development activities in the State.
Chandrababu reported having discussed on the transfer of Secretariat buildings sought by Telangana Government and State development. Narasimhan went to the hotel after participating in Police Commemoration Day in the city earlier in the presence of the Chief Minister. Chandrababu Naidu called on the Governor at the Hotel and discussed at length on the important issues pertaining to two Telugu States and his plan of developing the State with others.
The meeting assumes significance as both spoke on the appeal of Telangana Government seeking handing over of the five buildings in the Secretariat to build a new Secretariat and sharing of institutions under 9th and 10th schedules. Naidu made a strong pitch of not compromising on the State interests and will sort out the issues through a dialogue. He said he does not want to have conflicting atmosphere with his Telangana counterpart as it will hamper development. “I am ready for a debate to sort out amicably the key issues among the two States”, Naidu said.
It is pertinent to note that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao recently appealed to the Governor to talk to Chandrababu Naidu Government to give away to L, K, J, and two H-Blocks to Telangana Government, which was holding A, B, C and D blocks. Naidu also learnt to have shared his views with the Governor on the Brijesh Kumar Tribunal verdict and planned to move apex court. He said he would inform the media if there is any expansion of Cabinet.
The Governor later smoothly chided the media for its reports that the two States are involved in controversies. When asked about the proposed transfer of Secretariat buildings to TS, the Governor parried a direct reply and said all issues of sharing of river waters and institutions under 9th and 10th schedules and others would be sorted out.
