New districts created for political gain only: CPM
Hyderabad, Oct.14: Opining that it was not proper to any leader to play with the emotions of the people for the sake of political needs, CPM state secretary Thammineni Veerabhadram has alleged that the creation of new districts has happened based on political motives only.
Speaking to the media here on Friday, Thammineni said that the CPM party welcomed the creation of new districts in the State but the creation new districts took place based on political benefits. He suggested that the government provide powers and funds to implement the welfare schemes to the new districts. The Telangana State would be called as ‘Bangaru Telangana’ only when 93 percent of the poor in the State got all facilities. The TRS government failed to concentrate on its assurances made during elections, he alleged.
The CPM was going to the people after releasing an alternative development model, he said. It was not proper to the Chief Minister to criticize the CPM’s ‘Maha Padayatra’ as leaders like Prof. Kodandaram welcomed it. He questioned the Chief Minister, who had an alliance with the CPM party during 2004 and 2009 elections, to tell as to why the enmity with the CPM now. He made it clear that there was no change in the stand of CPM even now on the separate Telangana State and demanded that the Chief Minister allot funds to the BCs based on proportion of BC population.
