One Held for Lifting Laptops, Mobile Phones in Hostels in SR Nagar

Hyderabad, Oct.10: The SR Nagar police on Sunday arrested one cat burglar and recovered nine laptops and four cell phones all worth Rs 2,10,000. The accused was identified as Kota Vijayakrishna alias Vijay and Babji, 24, residing in Kartikeya hostel behind the SR Nagar police station. He is a native of Kopperapalem under Ballikurava mandal of Prakasam district in the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh. Police said the accused is educated unemployed. He came to Hyderabad and hatched a plan to commit thefts for earning easy money. He stayed in various hostels for a few days. His modus operandi was to commit theft of laptops and cell phones of other inmates of hostels whenever they leave their rooms for taking lunch, dinner and to attend computer classes. In a similar manner, he used to join other hostels and commit similar thefts for gaining easy money. The accused was identified with the help of CCTV footage and was caught at Kruthunga Hostel and stolen property was seized by the police.
