Hyderabad City to have better roads soon: Ministers
Hyderabad, Oct.7: Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy and Roads & Buildings Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao today stated that a long-term plan is on to lay roads, provide basic facilities and infrastructure. The roads were badly hit by heavy rains, and a long-term plan will be implemented to ensure that the roads will be better.
Launching Vivekananda Praja Park, built at a cost of Rs 15 lakh at Madhapur under Sherilingampally limits and reservoir works being taken up, the ministers said that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was giving top priority to provide facilities and infrastructure. They also participated in a few developmental programs, including drinking water to every household as part of Rs 290-crore project, CC Roads with Rs 1 crore and pipelines works.
Speaking on the occasion, the ministers said roads, drinking water, CC roads and better transportation, including AC buses are being provided. Mini AC buses will be pressed into service to Ranga Reddy, Medak, Mahabubnagar and Nalgonda districts. They also said Rs 1960 crore being spent on drinking water and transportation will be strengthened as AC buses are introduced in Hitech city and IT Corridor areas.
KCR is offering huge funds to transform Hyderabad into a global city to have all facilities and infrastructure, the ministers maintained. Local MLA A Gandhi and others participated in the program.
