Governor, CM KCR pay tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at Bapu Ghat
Hyderabad, Oct.2: Governor ESL Narasimhan, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and Union Labour & Employment Minister Bandaru Dattatreya and others today paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi to mark his birth anniversary here on Sunday.
The Governor and the Chief Minister drove straight to Bapu Ghat at Langer House here and offered floral tributes to Father of the Nation. Others who also paid floral tributes to Mahatma include Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari, Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy, Ministers P Mahender Reddy, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Council Chairman Swamy Goud, BJP Leader Ch Ramachandra Reddy, GHMC Commissioner Janardhan Reddy, City Police Commissioner Mahender Reddy and other officials.
On occasion, heads of all religions performed rituals and recited verses from the holy books. Assembly Speaker S Madhusudana Chary, Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy, Council Chairman Swamy Goud and officials offered floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi. Also MLCs Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, B Venkateshwarlu, Stephenson, Legislature Secretary Raja Sadaram and others participated in the event. They recalled the services offered by Father of the Nation.
