Doctors told to help people protect their health

Hyderabad, Sept.25: Stating that the people were facing troubles due to heavy rains, Health & Medical Minister Dr. C Laxma Reddy urged doctors’ fraternity to create awareness among the people on how to protect their health during the present rainy season. The Health Minister inaugurated the 3K-Run organized by the Osmania Medical College students to create awareness on Diabetics and Retinopathy at Necklace Road here on Sunday morning. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that there was an urgent need to create awareness among the people on diseases spread during the rainy season. He said that mosquitoes would rise if stored water. There was a need to take precautions to stop spreading Malaria, Dengue, Diarrhea and other communicable diseases. He directed the Medical Department to see that the medical facilities reach the people in time. He informed that already GHMC was conducting Health Camps where the rains were heavy in the City. The government took steps to avail the services of doctors, officials and staff to the people. The government has cancelled the leaves for the staff announcing Health Alert till the situation turns normal. Osmania Medical College Principal Dr. Aruna Ramaiah, Dr. Shashi Kala, DME Dr. Ramani, cine actor Lohith, Sanjay, Sathish Paryada, Singer Abhishek Arya, Vishnu Reddy, Dr. Anurag, Dr. Aliya, Wings Events Madhu and Medical students participated in the program.
