Opposition can’t stop Mallanna Sagar: Harish Rao

Hyderabad, Sept.19: Irrigation Minister today reiterated that Mallanna Sagar reservoir would be constructed at any cost and provide all succor to the victims and farmers giving lands. At a program here Harish Rao alleged that the Congress moved the high court and misguiding the farmers and people on the issue. He said that those who moved court against the land acquisition came forward to withdraw voluntarily their pleas and give their lands for the reservoir, he maintained. He criticized that the Congress and Telugu Desam are crying foul on the projects. The state government is committed for providing better compensation through GO 123 he said. People of nine villages have come forward to give their lands for the purpose he said. Landless will get help through GO 190 he said adding that landless SCs and STs will get Rs 7.50 lakh towards one time settlement. The government also decided to give Rs 3000 to SCs and Rs 2000 allowance to others he added. The minister suggested the opposition parties to desist from creating hurdles and confusing the farmers on the projects. The previous governments which failed to complete the projects are now shamelessly obstructing the same during the TRS regime. Despite their bombardment we are determined to complete the projects he maintained.
