TDP threatens to storm GHMC office if govt fails to re-carpet city roads
Hyderabad, Sept.19: Telangana TDP president L Ramana today warned that his party activists would lay a siege to GHMC office for not effecting repairs to badly affected roads in the twin cities. Speaking to media persons here, Ramana said the condition of city roads was very pathetic and the authorities concerned were not taking steps to repair them. The GHMC authorities should take immediate measures on a war-footing to repair the damaged roads, he said. The TDP leader also alleged that Municipal Administration Minister K Tarakarama Rao failed to keep his promise of repairing damaged roads. The TRS has promised it would develop Hyderabad city on international standards, but forgot its promises after capturing GHMC. “Hyderabad city was known as a green city and clean city and foreigners, who come to the capital city visit various localities. But the damaged roads with gaping potholes would give a bad impression”, Ramana said. “While the Chief Minister was functioning from his farmhouse, KTR was asking people to bring to his notice about their problems by WhatsApp or Facebook and the officials were not bothered”, he alleged. TDP politburo member Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy said due to the bad condition of the road; it took three hours for him to reach Serilingapalli from the city. Quoting a TV channel report, he said there were 3,600 potholes between Jubilee Hills crossroad and Peddammagudi X. Road. He said his party would launch an agitation if the government fails to address the problems of the people.
