Rs 32 cr for RDOs for marriage scheme: MV Reddy

Hyderabad, Sept.17: Scheduled Castes Development Director Dr MV Reddy said that government released Rs 32 cr given to RDOs to implement Kalyana Lakhsmi program in the state. The State Government has decided to entrust the job of selecting beneficiaries to the RDOs and issued a GO 117 he said. The Director today held a Tele-Conference with joint directors, deputy directors and welfare officials here and said that Rs 32 cr given to RDOs for transparent implementation of the marriage scheme. The RDOs and MROs should coordinate for speedy disbursal of the funds to the eligible beneficiaries through concerned legislators he said. The Director asked the RDOs to open PD accounts for transfer of funds and help the poor families. Kalyana Lakshmi scheme is proving handy for the Dalit families to perform marriage of girls he said. The scheme is kept under green channel and collectors are being informed about the details. MROs will monitor the online applications while the finance department will transfer funds to the accounts of RDOs concerned he said.
