Kavitha flays Chandrababu for NSF closure

Hyderabad, Sept.1: TRS MP Kavitha today lashed out at Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party Chief N Chandrababu Naidu for “dumping” sugarcane farmers by closing down the Nizam Sugar Factory. Addressing the media here on Thursday, Kavitha charged previous TDP Government with deliberately closing down the Nizam Sugar Factory on lame excuses. Though there was an abundant production of sugarcane for the factory, Chandrababu Naidu had chosen to close it down, she fumed. She also said Chandrababu Naidu was noted for ditching the people, farmers and others for his selfish gains. The negligence of the previous governments forced the sugarcane farmers to suffer a lot; she expressed concern. However, Kavitha said, the State Government is committed to reopening the factory if the farmers are ready to adopt a cooperative attitude. “The Nizam Sugar Factory will be reopened at any cost to bring back its past glory”, the TRS MP has said. Kavitha slammed the Opposition for making derogatory remarks against the government on the issue. “Being responsible government, we paid Rs 66 crore towards arrears for the sugarcane growers,” she claimed. Despite this the Opposition leaders were resorting to mud-slinging activity for political gains, she rebutted. “We extend support to the sugarcane farmers, and took up a rally last month, she recalled. The Opposition was trying to misguide the farmers and employees, she added.
