Google unveils SD card support, Wi-Fi only mode for Maps
New Delhi, Aug 9: In addition to saving an area of Maps for offline use later, users with Android device that supports SD cards can save downloaded maps to an external SD card (if the device supports them) and free up storage space for storing other stuff. Users can also choose to save on mobile data by taking Google Maps completely offline, the company said on Tuesday. Once users switch to “Wi-fi only”, Google Maps app will work completely offline. If users need to see what the traffic is like or update their offline maps, they can easily switch back to online mode by changing their setting or finding the nearest Wi-Fi.
